The Matriarch

There was once a great being, an elder dragon with eyes that many claimed to be sapphires of the highest quality. This being's true name was lost to history. However, in the many languages that came and and went, a theme persisted: The Matriarch. A mother of immense power. An energy men whispered about in the shadows, fearful that her name might bring destruction upon their line.
The blue gem in this ring was stolen by one of history's greatest thieves. It is said by a former lover of the thief that The Matriarch's sapphire was stolen while she was tending to one of her children. At least, that's what the false legends would have you believe. The truth is that the jilted former lover was envious of his lost-love. For this thief was no thief, but a princess that threw away her riches to help the poor of her homeland.
The sapphire was in fact a gift from The Matriarch. And it was given not because she threw away her titles and her opulence. It was given because the princess chose courage. The princess's decision to follow her beliefs and do what is right is what earned the respect of The Matriarch.
Do you have what it takes to earn the respect of The Matriarch?
From Nick: There's something about the square cut that speaks to my inner fantasy buff. I look at this piece and see the spirit of a great elder dragon. The Queen of the Dragons. A being so comfortable in the embodiment of its own power. So regal. So wise.
The Matriarch means The Great Woman who has nurtured those that now nurture others. It's a testament to our nature as beings that tend to one another. That inspire the next generation of life-seekers.
Despite the theme of The Matriarch revolving around age and experience, I think it's possible to embody this energy at a much younger age than the label implies. Those that bring others together, that look out for their fellows, and that nurture and inspire the people that come to them for aid. That's what it means to be The Matriarch.
It is not a passive title, but an active energy.
All gems in all of rings are lab grown.
All pieces are crafted by my hands, with occasional help from Billy Borusso when I'm overwhelmed.
Stock (RAW) material is obtained through an online distributer (historically has been OnineMetals). The manufacturing company I most commonly receive my raw material from is Ta Chen International. This is disclosed to me through Mill Test Reports that state the material composition of the stock, the country of origin, and the distributing company.
The country of origin for most of the stainless steel I receive from Ta Chen International is Taiwan.
Ta Chen prohibits child labor, traficking, and coercion in their company. They also uphold a respect for diversity, have materinity protections, and institute working class protections. This is a summary taken from their Human Rights Policy. You can access the 3 page report here
My black and polished steel pieces are made using grade 304 and 316L stainless steel.
My brass or copper colored pieces are all made with grade 230-H58 brass.

"Great quality and response from them. When the rings came they felt a bit snug so I sent them back to get resized and it was free! They were great with updating me about when the rings would ship and when they received them. Again the quality of the rings are great as well. So beautiful."– Alejandro
"The rings I ordered arrived very timely. They were absolutely stunning! I ordered the dagger ring for myself and a band for my boyfriend. The rings fit us both perfectly and we both agreed how comfortable they are to wear for extended periods of time. I received numerous compliments on the dagger ring and when I mentioned that it was hand made, they were all the more intrigued! These rings are one of a kind in many aspects and I absolutely love having the opportunity to add one to my collection. Will definitely be purchasing more! Can’t wait to see what other styles this brand comes up with!"– Jenn
My Story.
This is the seed that sprouted Midnight's Honor: At our darkest hour, when we're a mess and feel as if the world will abandon us— I am here. I welcome all that you are with open arms. It does not matter how hard it is, how stuck, irritated, or worthless we feel. We are there for us. We, as we are, are something special. Something to be cherished.
This was the promise Elly made me when I was a child.
And it's one I've found important enough to keep till this day.
Elly was the kind of person forged from mythos and legend. An indomitable will that inspired all of those around her.
Me and Elly's childhood was spent split between the mundane Long Island life and a small shadow cult that trafficked adults and children.
Elly looked out for all of her brothers and sisters, at times taking abuse in their stead. Neither me nor any of my other brothers and sisters doubted Elly’s intentions or her will.
As a reminder that she was looking out for me, she would tie a section of thread around my pinky fingers. It was a symbol, something to look at or remember when reality hits in the way only reality can.
Chaos. Torture. Abandonment. These were the tenets of our world. And Elly stood before their cruelty and cursed these tenets down.
That thread that Elly tied around my pinky finger was my first ring. A gift from someone I took for granted. Someone I believed was immortal. When I saw the thread, or even so much as thought about it, my spirit would surge.
Our world was fraught with despair, but I would march beside Elly inot the depth of hell. We would wade through the torment together.
Except Elly didn’t make it.
Even today I can feel some of the weight behind losing her.
Her parting word was this: “Survive.” And that was what I did. I found a way to keep moving. Through all of it.
Most of my brothers and sisters met an untimely end. I myself didn’t believe I had a future past the age of 17.
Elly planted a seed that outlived her. It was a constant reminder. “Someone believes in me. Someone sees me as worthy. Someone knows I am strong enough to change things.”
Every ring that I make carries the spirit of Elly. Her fire. Her tenacity. She was an aspirant who dreamed of everyone making it out. Most didn’t. I couldn't bring her dream into reality. But a handful of us survived.
Every ring that I make carries the spirit of those that helped me survived. There are many. Some of them went by: Lizzie, Aaron, Asahi, Diana, Minni, Joseph, and J.M.
When you put on one of my rings, they may feel a little heavier than the pieces you've worn before.
Some attribute the weight to the material.
I think it's the legacy.
